Discounts based on product quantity

StoreHippo allows you to set up discounts based on the order quantity and product quantity. This feature allows you to set up different discount rates for different quantities of the product. So, by using these features, you can create discounts for the product combos.

The difference between the order and product based discount is that the product based discount is applicable at the product level only. For example, if you have created a discount for an order quantity equal to 2, it will be applied either when there are 2 items in the cart or there are 2 quantities of the same product in the cart. On the other hand, if you have added a product based discount, then the discount will be applied when the 2 quantities of the same product are added to the cart not when there are 2 different items in the cart.

Scenario

Suppose you want to provide a Rupees 100 discount only when the quantity of a product is equal to 2. The discount should be applied only when 2 quantities of the same product are added to the cart.

When the quantity of a product is equal to 2:

Steps

To set the discounts based on the order quantity, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Go to the Marketing > Discounts section in the StoreHippo Admin Panel.
  • Click the Add New button to add a new discount rule.
  • A form will open up with multiple fields.
  • Enter the name and description of the discount in the Name and Description field.
  • In the Rule Type dropdown, select the Product based as discount rule type. It defines that the discount will be applied at the product level.
  • Select "Flat" and enter the discount value.
  • In the Apply On field, choose "Products that meet conditions" and click the Add Condition button.
  • Select "Product quantity" from the Field dropdown and "equal" from the Operator dropdown.
  • In the Value field, enter the unit value. Here, we have entered 2.
  • Click the Insert Condition button.
  • Select the Enable checkbox to enable the discount.
  • Select the Show advance settings button and add the advance setting if needed.
  • Click the Save button to apply the changes.

Now, the discount will be created and when the customer will add 2 quantities of the product, then a discount will be applied.
