Generate CSR and Key

If you are not using StoreHippo SSL and wish to purchase your own SSL, then you need the CSR and key files. You get these files by generating Key and CSR.

Configuring Custom SSL

Follow these steps to configure SSL:

1. Buy an SSL as per your requirement.

2. Go to Settings > SSL Certificates section in StoreHippo Admin Panel. Click on Generate Key and CSR button. The following form appears:

     Fill up the following fields:

• Country: Enter a 2 letter code for your country. For example- AU, IN.

• State: Enter the full name of your state or province. For example- Haryana, Uttar Pradesh.

• Locality Name: Enter the name of your city. For example- Gurugram, Nagpur.

• Organization Name: Enter the name of your company. For example- Internet Widgits Ptv Ltd, Hippo Innovations.

• Unit Name: Enter the name of the section of your organization.

• Domain Name: Enter the name of the domain. For example- www.abc.com or *.abc.com.

• Email Address: Enter your email address registered with your domain. For example- [email protected].

3. After filling all the details, click on Download KEY & CSR button to download KEY & CSR file.
   

4. Submit the generated CSR to the SSL provider from where you purchased your site's SSL certificate.

   

5. After submission, they will send you a verification mail on your registered email Id.

6. After you verify it, you will get the certificate file (w/ extension .cert) and an intermediate file.

   

7. The .key file generated in step 3 is the SSL key & the .key file generated in step 6 is the SSL Certificates.

8. After installation of these files on our server, you will be able to access your site with https successfully.
