Geolocation And Hyperlocal Ecommerce

StoreHippo allows you to set up the geolocation and hyperlocal e-commerce. Thus, you can boost conversions with location-based e-commerce. Here, the term "Hyperlocal e-commerce" refers to the e-commerce store within 'a specific area' or 'a very specific demography. 

Setting up location based stores

Create multiple sub-stores based on customer geolocation to cater to the unique needs of your targeted customers. Boost sales by offering bestsellers on your sub-stores based on local demand analysis.

IP-detection based rules

Easily set up rules to implement themes, taxes, shipping charges, delivery timings etc. based on IP-detection of customer location. Manage hyperlocal e-commerce by implementing rules and charges that help your business grow.

Multi-vendor support

Quickly set up an online marketplace with a built-in multi-seller e-commerce solution adaptable to a variety of use cases. Onboard sellers/partners across the city to deliver to specific customer locations.

Dealer/ Retailer substores

Setting up the Hyperlocal Ecommerce

After you have set up the hyperlocal e-commerce, the user will need to first select the "Store location" from which they want to buy the product and then see the products that are sold in that particular store locationsIn order to set up the hyperlocal e-commerce, follow the steps mentioned below:

STEP 1: Enable multistore functionality

Once you have enabled the multistore functionality, you can create the locations specific stores. Thus, setting up the hyperlocal e-commerce. StoreHippo's multi-store e-commerce software allows you to enable Substores functionality right from the admin console.

  • Go to Settings > Misc section in StoreHippo Admin Panel. 
  • Select the Enable Multistore checkbox to enable the multistore functionality as shown in the image below. 

  • Click the Save & Continue button.

STEP 2 : Create metafields

Now, you need to create the metafields. To do so, follow the steps given below:

  • Provide the Name as "ms.substores" and proceed to enter the field details.

  •  Enter the field details as shown in the image above.
  • After entering the details, click the Save button and the metafield will be created.

STEP 3: Create substores

Now, you need to create the location-based substores. To do so, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Go to the Settings > Substores section in the StoreHippo Admin Panel to create substores.
  • Click the Add New button.

  • A form opens with multiple fields as shown below.

  • After entering the details, click the Save button.
  • Now, the location-based substore will be created.

STEP 4: Setting up default substores

After creating the substores, you can set the default substore if needed. When the customer lands on your store the default store will be the first store that is displayed. To do this, follow the steps given below:

  • Go to Settings > MISC section in the StoreHippo Admin Panel.
  • Select the default substore from the drop-down.

  • Now, define whether you want to show or hide the substores when no substore is assigned to the records. Select hide or show in the Records With Blank Substore field.
  • Click the Save button to save the settings.

STEP 5: Select substores aspop-up window

Provide the options to your customers to choose substore on the pop-up window.

  • Go to Site > Startup Widgets section in StoreHippo Admin Panel.
  • Click the Add New button to create a startup controller.

  • Provide the Name as 'startup_controller' and Controller as shown in the screenshot below:

  • Click the Save button.
  • Now, the option to select substores will appear on your storefront.
