Setting up chained/split payments

A chained/split/adaptive payment is a payment from a sender that is indirectly split among multiple receivers. It is an extension of a typical payment from a sender to a receiver (administrator of the store), in which a receiver, known as the primary receiver, indirectly passes part of the payment to other receivers, who are called secondary receivers. A chained payment is a payment from a sender that is indirectly split among multiple receivers.

In StoreHippo, you can set up the chained or split payment flow. The primary receiver of the payment gateway in this flow is the store's admin and the secondary receivers are the sellers of the store.

StoreHippo supports two payment gateways:

  • PayPal Adaptive
  • PayU Aggregator

PayPal Adaptive

To setup of the adaptive/split payment by PayPal Adaptive, please follow the below steps:

Register on PayPal

  1. Register yourself on PayPal.
  2. Get the credentials User Id, Password, Signature and App Id from the PayPal Adaptive.

Setting up Payment Method

Follow the below steps to set up payment methods:

  1. Go to Settings > Payment Methods section of StoreHippo Admin panel
  2. Add PayPal Adaptive as a payment method. 
  3. Mention the credentials of the Paypal Adaptive and save.

Adding Seller Ledger Rules

Follow the below steps to add seller ledger rules:

  1. Go to Sellers > Seller Ledger Rules section of StoreHippo Admin panel.
  2. Add seller ledger rule(s) for all the sellers of the store. The commission amount configured in the ledger rules is the amount which will be kept as a share by the store's admin (primary receiver). Rest of the amount of the orders will split among the sellers.

Adding Primary receiver

Follow the below steps to add a primary receiver in Miscellaneous settings:

  1. Go to Settings > MISC section of StoreHippo Admin panel.
  2. Scroll down to find Paypal Adaptive Email field.
  3. Mention the primary receiver's (admin) PayPal email address. 

Adding Secondary receiver

Follow the below steps to adding the secondary receiver in Seller Payout Methods

  1. Go to Sellers > Seller Payout Methods section of StoreHippo Admin panel.
  2. Add seller payout methods by clicking on Add New button. 
  3. Select the Seller and Type as PayPal. Mention the secondary receivers' (sellers) Paypal's email addresses under Paypal Account Email field.

Hence now the order's amount will be shared among the primary (admin) and secondary (seller) receivers. The store's administrator will keep its share as configured under Seller Ledger Rules, and rest of the amount will be passed to the order's seller.

PayU Money Aggregator

To setup of the adaptive/split payment by PayPal Adaptive, please follow the below steps:

Register on PayU Money 

  1. Register yourself on PayU Money.
  2. Create Sub-Merchants.
  3. Get the merchant ids of different children.

Setting up Payment Method

You need to add different sub-merchant for different substores/locations. Follow the below steps to set up payment methods:

  1. Go to Settings > Payment Methods section of StoreHippo Admin panel
  2. Add PayU Money Aggregator as a payment method. 
  3. Mention the Sub-Merchant ID of the of the PayU Aggregator.
  4. Add conditions to the payment method and save.

Adding Sellers

Follow the below steps to adding the secondary receiver in Seller Payout Methods

  1. Go to Sellers > Seller Payout Methods section of StoreHippo Admin panel.
  2. Add seller payout methods by clicking on Add New button. 

  3. Select the Seller and Type as PayU Money. Mention the sellers' Merchant Id under Payumoney Merchant Id field.
