Substores (Multi-store)

Available in Business Plan and above.

Multi-store ecommerce platform allows you to create sub/child stores within your store. Your customers can switch between substores to browse products that belong to the selected Substores. You can assign products, slides, and banners to a particular Substores. You can create Substores based on location e.g. you can define one store for each of the city or area that you are catering. You can also create different Substores for different categories of product. You can use the multi-store ecommerce solution for a myriad of use cases. 

Enabling Substores functionality

StoreHippo's multi-store ecommerce software allows you to enable Substores functionality right from the admin console. Go to Settings > Misc section in StoreHippo admin panel. Select the Enable Multistore checkbox to enable the multistore functionality. 

Here you can also choose the default Substores that you want to show on your site.

 

Create Substores

You can create Substores using Settings > Substores section in StoreHippo Admin Panel. Click on Add New button and enter the following fields in the form.

Name

Enter the name of the Substore here. This name will be the display name of the substore on the storefront.

Alias

Alias is created automatically from the name of the substore. Alias is unique for each Substores

Click on Choose file and upload the image for your substore here.

Sort Order

Enter the sort order for your substore in which they will appear on the storefront.

Settings

Provide the following settings about your substore:

Store Name

Enter the name of your substore.

Logo

Upload the logo of your substore here.

Mobile logo

Upload an alternate mobile logo that can be used in mobile themes. 

Favicon

Upload the favicon for your substore which will appear in the address bar of a browser accessing the site. 

Description

Enter the brief introduction of your substore.

Google Analytics Id

Enter the Google Analytics tracking id which will directly configure your substore with the Google Analytics. Google Analytics allows you to track and report the website traffic offered by Google.

Google Tag Manager Id

Provide the Google Tag Manager Id here. Google Tag Manager allows you to quickly and easily update tags and code snippets on your website or mobile app for traffic analysis and marketing optimization. 

Facebook Pixel Id

Provide your Facebook Pixel Id here which will directly configure your store to Facebook Pixel. It helps you to track and optimize your store to increase conversions.

Contact Email

Enter the email id through which your customers can reach out to you.

Contact Phone

Provide the Contact number which will let your customers interact with you.

Served Countries

Choose the countries from the drop-down where the substore will be accessible to the users.

Link products with Substores

After creating Substores, you need to assign products to each Substores on your multi-store ecommerce platform. Once you enable the Substores functionality, the Substores field appears in different entities including products. To specify Substores in a product, go to Products > Products section in StoreHippo Admin Panel and edit a product to specify the value for the Substores field.

Below is the list of sections in which you can assign the records to Substores.

Records with blank Substores

This is an advanced setting which lets you decide if you want to show/hide the substores. When there is no substore assigned to any given record you can select from a list of actions from the drop-down. To do so, go to Settings > MISC sections in StoreHippo Admin Panel. Scroll down for Records With Blank Substores field and select the option from the drop-down.

Choose Substores as Substores window

You can create a startup controller using Site > Startup Controllers section in StoreHippo Admin Panel. Here you can add a startup_controller with the code given below:

Using Substores in themes

There is support for Substores in most of StoreHippo themes. But in case if your theme doesn't have support for this you can enable it in a simple step.

Go to Design panel in StoreHippo Admin Panel. Edit HTML  > Header and add the following HTML.

Note: When you change the substore, the cart will be cleared.
