How to set different payment methods for different user groups?


You have two types of customers in your store, i.e. Retailers and Wholesalers. You only want to give the option of Online Payments to your wholesale customers. How to set that?


StoreHippo provides the support to set different payment methods for different user groups in its stores. You first need to create user groups and then you can set different payment methods for different user groups by setting up Store variants. Follow the below steps:

Creating User Groups

  1. Go to Users > User groups section in StoreHippo Admin Panel
  2. Click on Add New to create a new user group.
  3. Provide the name as Wholesalers and save the information.
  4. Similarly, create a user group "Retailers".

    Assigning User groups to users

  5. Go to Users > Users section in StoreHippo Admin Panel to assign user group to users.
  6. Edit an existing user.
  7. Choose 'Wholesalers' from the drop-down in the User Group field.

    Adding Store Variants

  8. Go to Site > Theme section in StoreHippo Admin Panel. Click on Store Variants
  9. Click on Add New.
  10. Enter the Name as "Wholesaler Payments". 
  11. Click on Add conditions. Select the Field as "User Groups", Operator as "One of these" and Values as "Wholesalers".
  12. Click on Insert Conditions to add the condition.
  13. In Action, select the payment method as "Online payments".
  14. Click on Save to save the variant.
